In November, I will be showing my current project at Launch Pad Gallery in Portland. The show will be on view from November 7-30th. The opening reception will be on the 7th from 6-12. The great local band, Bright Red Paper will be performing as well.For the show, I will be displaying the drawings that I have been working on as well as creating an installation that interacts the viewers with the work. My goal is to create a gathering place for local people who are interested in what gardening can do right now. Our local community is incredibly rich with people actively growing their own food. There are many businesses that either support local farmers or grow food themselves.
Instead of a normal art opening, I hope that it becomes more of a place for people to meet each other and get helpful gardening tips, make new relationships with other garden conscious businesses and simply be able to listen to some great local music.
A portion of the proceeds from this show will help my thesis project in the spring where I will be giving away free vegetable starts for people.
